“Seven Aspects of the Chan School” was presented by Chan Master Dahui Zonggao to describe the seven essential attitudes required for Chan practice. It points out a path of turning inward, guiding practitioners not to rely on external conditions nor cling to conceptual views, but to proceed step by step back to their original face. By following Master Sheng Yen’s clear and accessible teachings on Seven Aspects of the Chan School, we are guided to see the fundamental landscape of the Chan lineage.
