Venerable Tenzin Palmo Visited Nung Chan Monastery

9/28/2001

Venerable Tenzin Palmo, advocator for the education of nuns and founder of the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery on the Himalayan border region, and a Tibetan nun for more than thirty years who was originally from Britain, visited Nung Chan Monastery on Steptember 24. She had a dialogue with Master Sheng-yen in a meeting with members of the Monastery and the staff of Humanity Magazine.

Ven. Tenzin Palmo extolled the extraordinary karmic roots of the members of the Monastery, for they are born in a country where they can hear the Buddhadharma and practice the Buddhadharma, regardless of their genders. Furthermore, they have a true dharma master to guide them, support them, and help them. She urged them never to waste this valuable lifetime and this rare extraordinary opportunity.
